LLM fine-tuning for enterprise AI.
Adapt model behaviour to your domain, with prepared datasets, measurable evaluations and a practical deployment plan.
Discuss your use caseKaizenix helps teams assess, prepare and fine-tune large language models for specific business tasks. Our LLM fine-tuning services connect data preparation, model selection, evaluation and integration, with delivery from Bengaluru for organizations across the US, Europe, APAC and Japan.
Fine-tuning can help a model follow a specialized response format, classify domain information or perform a repeated task more consistently. It is most useful when a well-defined task and representative examples are available. We first establish a baseline using prompting and retrieval, then evaluate whether model adaptation offers enough benefit to justify its cost and operational requirements.
When should you consider fine-tuning?
- Consistent outputs. Your application needs a stable structure, taxonomy or response style across many similar requests, and prompting alone is not reliable enough.
- Domain-specific tasks. Your team can provide reviewed examples for tasks such as document classification, information extraction or specialist support workflows.
- A measured business case. You can compare task quality, latency and operating cost against a baseline. Improvement is evaluated on held-out examples rather than training data.
From assessment to a working system.
- Assess the task and model options. Define the users, failure modes and acceptance criteria. Compare managed and open-weight models, licensing constraints, hosting choices and whether parameter-efficient adaptation is suitable.
- Prepare and review the dataset. Inventory the data you are authorized to use, remove unnecessary personal information, check labels and create training, validation and test splits that reduce leakage.
- Train and evaluate. Run a scoped fine-tuning experiment against the agreed baseline. Review accuracy, instruction following, unsafe outputs, robustness and performance on the actual workflow.
- Integrate and operate. Connect the evaluated model to your application, with access controls, monitoring, versioning, rollback and human review where the task requires it.
What the engagement can deliver.
Scope, acceptance criteria, security requirements and deliverables are agreed before delivery begins.
- A task definition and model-selection rationale
- A documented data-preparation and evaluation process
- An evaluated pilot with recorded limitations
- An integration, deployment and improvement plan
Questions before you start.
Is fine-tuning the same as training an LLM from scratch?
No. Fine-tuning adapts an existing model to a narrower task. Training a foundation model from scratch generally requires a different data, compute and operating commitment. We assess the smallest approach that can meet your requirements.
Should we use fine-tuning or RAG?
Use retrieval-augmented generation when the main need is to answer from current, controlled source documents. Consider fine-tuning when the main need is a repeatable task, output structure or specialized behaviour. Some systems combine both approaches; the decision should follow evaluation.
What data do we need before starting?
Start with representative inputs, reviewed target outputs and permission to use the data. The amount and quality needed depend on the task and model. Discovery establishes whether the available dataset is suitable before a training scope is agreed.
Can you support a private deployment?
We can assess private cloud, managed model and self-hosted options against your infrastructure, licensing, security and residency requirements. The architecture and contractual processing arrangements are agreed for each engagement.
